Sometimes the best tips come from fellow dreamers—and this one is too good not to share. Simple, calming, and beginner-friendly, this lucid dreaming technique is perfect for winding down and gently guiding your awareness into the dream world.
Here’s how it works:
🧘♂️ Step 1: Gentle Pre-Sleep Practice
Before bed, take a few quiet minutes to try 3 to 5 easy reality checks.
These can include:
-
Pushing your finger through your palm
-
Looking at your hands and asking, “Am I dreaming?”
-
Glancing at a digital clock, then looking away and back again
✨ Stay calm and relaxed—this should feel peaceful, not distracting.
🛏️ Step 2: Drift Off with Intention
As you lie in bed, gently repeat one of the following phrases in your mind:
“I’m dreaming.”
“I’m in bed.”
Repeat it softly about 10 times. Let your thoughts float—you’re planting a seed of awareness.
🔁 Step 3: Do a Reality Check in Bed (or Dream)
Once you’re lying in bed—or possibly already dreaming—do the same reality checks you practiced before.
If something’s strange (your finger passes through your hand, your room feels odd, etc.), you’re likely dreaming.
🔄 Step 4: Recite Again If Needed
Still unsure? No problem. Just calmly repeat your phrase again:
“I’m dreaming.”
“I’m in bed.”
This helps center your awareness again without disrupting your sleep.
🔍 Step 5: Look Around — Something Might Be Off
Focus on your surroundings. Is something missing from your room? Or does something feel “off”?
That’s a strong sign you’ve entered a lucid dream. 🎉
Bonus Tip
Use your Lucid Dream Journal to record even small details—this builds awareness and improves your chances over time.
Patience and calm consistency are key.
Sweet dreams, and thank you to the Reddit dreamer who shared this with us! 🌌
